There’s a lot to be said about working in physical spaces. This is especially important when you think about the occasions when you have to reward / appreciate an employee for their performance. Come to think of it, why limit this statement to employees alone? Rewards can and should be given to:
Team members
Customers
Suppliers
Partners and
Bosses too!
In a conventional (or should we say pre-pandemic) world, reward gifting was carried out with an event or a party and people could easily get a sense of belonging and achievement because they are physically surrounded by good will.
But what happens with remote workers? Let’s say your team (or supplier/customer/partner) is based in the USA and you need to show them some appreciation. Throwing a party may not always be possible, right? Thankfully, there are many ways in which you can reward remote teams and online gifting is one of them.
Reward gifting for remote teams and partners is mission critical and here’s why.
It helps minimise employee turnover. According to Gallup, voluntary turnover is a fixable problem that is costing US businesses a trillion dollars. Most employees leave because they feel invisible or unappreciated. A simple ‘thank you’ gift or ‘appreciation’ makes them feel validated and recognised. And more importantly, improves the chances of them staying in the team.
Your employee, Your ambassador. One of the most powerful ways in which your brand gets nurtured and recognised is when your own employees represent it in a positive manner. The best brand ambassadors you can have is your own team! By recognising their efforts in a timely and relevant manner, you turn them into loyal supporters who will tell others that your business makes great products and has a fabulous work culture as well.
This leads us to another reason why reward gifting is a good idea - recruitment. Onboarding gifts give a recruit a massive dose of encouragement to stay on and work for the business. According to a study by the Society for Human Resource Management, recognition programs 56% of the HR professionals surveyed felt that employee recognition helped in recruitment.
Every employer wants an engaged, productive, happy employee. With a recognition program in place, you can boost morale and drive performance rather effortlessly. According to Deloitte, recognition can have a measurable impact. And it is one of the important non-financial reasons why companies do better with employee performance.
It could be a generation thing too! Remote teams seem to be the first choice for a lot of companies today. And the millennial generation seems to be occupying the remote space in large numbers. This generation needs recognition immediately and in larger doses as well.
There really is a strong case to be made for the many advantages of remote gifting. And with the convenience of online shopping, free delivery and the ability to track your gifts, you can make employee recognition your priority easily and effectively.
